Louis Vuitton: Art, Fashion and Architecture.

Not sure if many people are aware, but Louis Vuitton's collection of three-books-in-one is out. Louis Vuitton: Art, Fashion and Architecture is a fantastic literature collaboration project of Jill Gasparina, Glenn O'Brien, Taro Igarashi, Ian Luna and Valerie Steele. It's the hot hardcover in couture and design, available on Amazon.

I, myself, haven't picked up a copy yet, but I'm dying to get my hands on it. It's the perfect coffee table book, and many fashion and art authorities are calling it the 'it book' of the upcoming season. 

Do you plan on getting a copy?

Joy from Parsons

My cousin Joy is visiting from New York. She goes to Parsons, the New School for Design, my dream college. Anyway, everytime she visits she brings a huge stock of couture for me, but this time she also brought some her handmade work.

I wish I took pictures of her work, but unfortunately, my camera broke over the weekend when I visited a garden with my mom. Hopefully I'll get it repaired soon.

I'll post more about Joy later.

Spero Villioti

Since the spotlight is on South Africa with all the World Cup events going on, I thought I'd post some African fashion and couture. Spero Villioti is one of my favorite designers in Africa.

From his Winter 2010 collection, during the Johannesburg Fashion Show:

Google is Art

I know it's a random topic for Artsy Style, but I think Google logos are the simplest and the most overseen kind of art online. There's always a Google logo that's so creative and meaningful. I thought I'd display some.

The first logo is celebrating the anniversary of Pac-Man, a global favorite. You could actually play the game on Google's home page.

The second picture is for Father's Day. Personally, it reminded me of one of Norman Rockwell's American-pastime-apple-pie paintings.

The third is for Earth Day, and the last is for April Fool's. It's simple, but it had me thinking for a few seconds.

Oh, by the way, you can submit your own logo to Google and they might accept it. Check it out HERE.

Vogue

Vogue is doing a segment called Today I'm Wearing, which spotlights a worldwide fashionista for one month. The chosen celebrity sends in a snapshot of their outfit everyday for a month. Lovely idea. Can't wait to see the posts :)

June's fashion guru is Julia Restoin Roitfeld, emerging style icon. Her style is easily lovable. Check it out.

Everyday Living

So it's only been six months since I moved to Seoul from LA, so I guess my house is still fairly new. Everything's settled in now, but I feel like we should've remodeled to make the flat look a bit more colorful and..pretty. 

But we all know how hard it is, maintaining a state of cleanliness around the house. We all tend to throw our jackets on the sofa, kick off our shoes on the bed, and pile on papers and books on the desk. 

A recent trend in interior has been turned from the classic, modern, strictly white and perfect interior, to a more casual, relaxed and scattered environment.

I think it's a whole lot comfier and artistic. I prefer this kind of interior to the traditional, purely white and OCD kind of room.

Today's Outfit

So today I'm wearing a new Song of Love shirt, vintage pants, Ellemenno 'princess' flats and a vintage belt. At first i thought the shirt was boring and a little too 'nurse'-like', but I just loved the splendid color, and decided to work with it, and came up with this. I think it gives the entire outfit a crisper, cleaner look. 

Prada 2010

Since one of the most admired designers of all time is Miuccia Prada, I thought it would make sense for me to do a quick review on the latest styles from Prada. I personally respect Miuccia highly, and think she's just 

amazing in every way possible. I believe she's an ideal icon of fashion and style.

These beautiful Miu Miu shoes are wedge platform Mary Janes.

Above is another Miu Miu piece, less flashier than the first but simply gorgeous. I think they'll be perfect for summer or even spring, paired with the ever-so-trendy high socks we've all seen.

But back to Prada. Some of her bags from the 2010 collection have just blown my mind:

A printed apricot/cream leather bag with a top zip, ideal for spring and summer.

A more colorful and fun printed tie bag with a leather strap. This is a little more vibrant and eye-catching than most of Prada's other pieces in this collection. Well, it has a big more variety in its patterns, anyway.

My dislikes with the collection: 

I just thought this madras drawstring bag was was a little stale, and I think Prada has been able to design simple yet chic pieces. Looks like what my grandma would appreciate. 

Above, this jeweled t-strap sandal was a bit unsatisfying. The color combination made the shoe look strange and unappealing. 

In conclusion, Prada's collection has been IMPRESSIVE. I absolutely adored her handbag line, and I'm looking forward to more styles coming out for the summer.
